Charity marathons are much more than a race: they are an opportunity to turn every kilometer into tangible help. Participants run in support of an association or a charitable project, involving friends, colleagues and family in a fundraiser linked to their run.
In recent years, Italy’s leading marathons have given more and more space to the non-profit world, with dedicated programs that allow organizations to take part with their own teams and present their initiatives to thousands of runners and spectators.
The Carioni Charity Team has decided to take part too. Together with Afro Med Association, the team is running in the marathons of Milan, Parma, Venice and Verona to promote the “Trees for People” project, the regenerative agriculture and beekeeping initiative in the Namwala region of Zambia that protects biodiversity, fights poaching and creates new sources of income for rural communities.
Upcoming races: the Parma Marathon (October 18, 2026), the Venice Marathon (October 25, 2026) and the Verona Marathon (November 15, 2026), as well as the Milano Marathon through its Charity Program.
Each race thus becomes a way to tell the project’s story, support fundraising and show that sport can be a powerful tool for solidarity.
